Esther Ekhart
EkhartYoga founder, specialist in meditation, Hatha, philosophy and the nervous system.
Esther Ekhart, face and founder of EkhartYoga, brings years of personal yoga and meditation practice, therapy training and study of yoga philosophy into her teaching. She worked as a therapist for many years and is fascinated by the human psyche. Through her spiritual studies and the application of this knowledge in her daily life, Esther discovered that our conditioning can prevent us from experiencing the reality of the present moment. It is this learning that Esther incorporates into all of her teachings. Her goal is to give her students the opportunity to look beyond their old stories and grant them the freedom to experience the truth – the moment as it is now.
In 2012, Esther founded EkhartYoga, an online yoga platform based in the Netherlands. She has been teaching for EkhartYoga ever since, as well as leading hundreds of in-person and online classes, trainings, workshops, festivals and retreats around the world. Esther loves to combine dynamic styles of yoga like Vinyasa Flow – which focuses on strength, stability and fitness – with slower, more introspective practices like Yin yoga and meditation.
Esther is also a lifelong student and has thousands of hours of training under her belt. Most notably, she has studied with Clive Sheridan, Taetske Kleijn, Leslie Kaminoff, Paul and Susie Grilley, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. She is always open to questioning previous teaching methods (including her own) and loves to challenge herself by continually integrating new insights and learnings into her teaching.
